There were a bunch of old PCs in my QC lab, but we lacked a full accounting of software assets from the previous IT teams. It turned out that it was captured important (compliance related) information about products in FileMaker. There were no backups, and it was an unsupported version. I had to find the closest version that it could upgrade to on eBay and then buy the current (supported) version. Migrating to MS Access just wasn't economical. We were also able to backup the database.
Have any of you run into similar situations? How have you handled it?
