MAC NON VPP Application Updates, without user involvement ?

Any suggestion on how to update non-VPP apps like VSCode, Postman, Docker, GitHub Desktop, Fork, and TablePlus on macOS devices enrolled in JumpCloud?

Users lack sudo access, so I’m looking for automated or admin-triggered solutions, possibly via JumpCloud commands, Homebrew, or third-party tools.

In windows, the Software management with Chocolaty does the Job.

Hey @itsPasricha If the respective app vendors provide a script or a command to update the apps, you can leverage JumpCloud Commands to execute them on the target device.

Alternatively, you can deploy casks (apps) via HomeBrew and keep them updated. Refer Install Homebrew 🍺 and deploy Brew formulae on macOS devices remotely via JumpCloud Commands on how-to install HB and deploy formulae or casks remotely via JC Commands.

Hi @saifshaik, getting the script is difficultt as all are open source apps plus.

Also, I have deployed the apps via the above Homebrew command itself, but when I update it, all the apps ask to add the helper, which requires admin creds/access. I am looking for something where i can have an automated process. Like the one we have for VPP apps and Chocolaty apps.
