It's Thanksgiving time in the U.S. and we usually try to pause and think about what we are thankful for. It has been a tough fall for a lot of us, and without going into detail about that, it can be difficult to pause and make a list.
But just like last year (What are you grateful for? (A thanksgiving post)) let's make a list and focus on the positive. And I'll start. It's looking pretty similar!
- Still grateful for those teens (who each had birthdays last week) โ they even still like me!
- ๐๐๐ Our 3 cats mostly manage not to destroy things
- A ๐ก home in a neighborhood with great neighbors on each side of us
- Working ๐ car that gets us places
- Friends ๐ โ I may not have a lot of them but they are the best
- Books to read ๐, too many to count and they haven't collapsed into a pile on top of me and buried me (it's a lot of books)
- Food to eat ๐ฅ ๐ โ there's a lot of food insecurity around the country & the world & I am super grateful that we have enough
It's your turn: what are you thankful for this season, even if it's not thanksgiving or even a holiday where you are?

As always, I'm grateful for my family, and the time that I get to spend with them. They're why I work so hard, and getting time with them is so crucial.
After that, I'm thankful for my neighborhood parenting support group friends who make life in the city feel like life in a small town, where you know everyone and everyone's always glad to see you. Without them, I'd be in a loony bin, to be sure.
On the tech front, I'm thankful for great new hardware from Apple -- the M4 Pro Mac mini is a wonder! -- and great software from folks at Reclaim.ai, Bloomerang, yes, even Jira.
I'm thankful for my professional community at the Mac Admins Foundation, and for their successful membership campaign!
