Hi,

Is there a way to follow progress on supported linux platforms? In particular I'm interested in know when/if you will support Fedora 39.

Hi @royalrex you can follow all release updates here: https://jumpcloud.com/support/release-notes-2024

And follow updates to supported versions of linux here: https://jumpcloud.com/support/agent-compatibility-system-requirements-and-impacts#linux

Thank you for your reply.

I was hoping to find more detailed info. I can see that you support Fedora 38, but is support for 39 in active development, is it on the roadmap and is there an expected timeline for when it is released?

Thank you.

Hi @royalrex I know for sure that's it's in the works but there isn't a release timeline that I can share just yet.

I tried the trick of changing /etc/os-release. Installation succeeded. I changed it back...

However, on tailing the jcagent logs I could see it wanted to download some dependencies and failed. I changed the file again to report 38. now dependencies succeed, but I have another issue:

level=error msg=failed to prepare statement for reporter_record select error=row value misused

Followed by:

level=warning msg=unable to load the time of the last report

oh well, 39 only has 7 months of support left.

https://www.reddit.com/r/JumpCloud/comments/1ay0kcv/question/ For companies running RHEL in prod its quite common for devs to be on Fedora, I would think. So I am surprised its not getting as much love.

Hi @suchakra-texada we hear you and unfortunately can't offer an official resolution till it's supported. But I know for sure that the team is working on supporting as many linux distros as they can. The more feature requests we get the more priority it'll probably get so we would love feature requests for the distros you're working with.

Hello all, Fedora 39 is now supported officially ๐Ÿ™‚ https://jumpcloud.com/support/agent-compatibility-system-requirements-and-impacts#linux

Excellent, thanks for letting us know!

Fedora 40 was released a month ago, I hope you will have support for it by the time Fedora 39 reaches end of life on the 12th of November this year (https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-39/f-39-key-tasks.html)

Hi @googol I understand the frustration, our team does their best to keep up support for all the linux distros that are supported.

Any update for Fedora 40?

39 EoL is in 12 days. 41 is already out!!

All evidence would suggest that you are NOT in fact "working on it". @BScott

We're also needing this. We have a bunch of Linux users who are on Fedora 40. Any ETA?

Ok, I take it back. It just took a Loooooooong time.
