Let's start to get to know everyone and introduce ourselves to each other. I'm going to do a longer post to introduce the community team, but I'll go ahead and get started here to kick things off. You can do your intro however you'd like, but we'd love to have you include at least the basics:
Name, dob, ssn... oh wait. That's not it—wrong list. 🤣 Let me try again.
Name, current job title, company
fun fact about yourself
You can add more of course. And if you don't want to share your current company, you can say your industry instead.
Hi everyone! I'm Becky Scott, Senior Manager Technical Community at JumpCloud. You'll see a lot of me around here (sorry in advance) as this is part of my day job. Meetups and social also fall under my team. And a fun fact: if you haven't seen me on camera on the IT Hour yet this will be new to you—my hair is purple and I love it because it's, well, fun. Stick around and I'm sure you'll learn more about me. Like the fact that I abuse emojis and gifs. (Sorry, not sorry.)

I have my app in to be a Subaru Amassador, I regularly call them to say "what about now" to check and see if it's been reviewed. I'm already at every car show and Cars and Coffee spreading the good word of Subaru all the time anyway. They might as well make it official. 🙂

Hi Everyone,
We've been with JumpCloud for 6 years. I'm the Director of IT and we're mostly a macOS shop, but have some Windows, and a lot of Linux Servers. Looking forward to expanding our use case yet again this year.

Hi Becky, this is Nick, new JumpCloudian here, ready to be a fly on the wall and learn as much as I can from the Community. Fun fact about me: I'm a hobbyist and have been recently gravitating towards drones (just learning for now, flying hopefully soon, stay tuned). Thank you.

Hey Becky!
I'm Alan West and I'm an Endpoint Administrator working in Healthcare and a LONG TIME fan of Jumpcloud, I even own a BUNCH of comfy JumpCloud t-shirts that have been kindly gifted to me at conferences, when they were still a thing. I love Nashville Predators hockey, reading and traveling. I'm looking forward to seeing this community grow and hope to grow with it!

Welcome, @alanwest! Glad to have you join us. Hope to see you showing off those t-shirts at a meetup sometime (even a virtual one).

Hi there,
I'm Chris Tucker, Strategic Technology Partner with Strada Education Network. We've been using JumpCloud for a few years now as our primary directory. I enjoy connecting with other people in communities like this, learning how they leverage the same tool(s) we use, and sharing knowledge and experiences with those tools (including and especially JumpCloud 😁). I'm a couple of hours east of Chicago but was unable to attend both the virtual and in-person meetups due to schedule conflicts. I hoping to make it to a future one (or more, and sooner than later)!
05-03-2022 09:34 AM
Yay to another Chicagoland peep! Keep your eyes peeled as we're planning the next meetup. I think we're going to try to do them monthly, mixing them up between in-person and virtual. We have an amazing "member" who runs the IT at a place that's perfect for meetups so @alexaemerson and I are working with him to figure stuff out. Getting folks to volunteer to present on something is going to prove a bit of a challenge, but it always is around here. Chicago's funny that way. I'm curious how you get 2 hours east of chicago...you live in the lake? 😉
05-03-2022 09:47 AM
I'm in Southwest Michigan. The lake is still about 50 minutes west of me (wish it was closer, or that I could live on a lighthouse along the shore), but I'm very close to I-80/90, so getting over to Chicago is pretty easy :). Is the challenge getting people to present because they're adverse to being in the spotlight, or because they're not sure what to present on?

Hi everyone, my name is Erik and I am an IT manager currently working for a software engineering subsidiary of an automotive corporation. I have been using the Jumpcloud platform for a little over a year, after dealing with other MDM platforms. I came to learn about Jumpcloud several years before that though, after Centrify stopped directly supporting Macbooks for active directory enrollment.
Fun fact about me, I do not touch computers most of the time when I am not working. Tech is great, but we all need to take time off.
06-03-2022 01:47 PM
@tkyerik thanks for introducing yourself. I agree that we all need time off from screens! And I need to do a better job of that, but I think that's why I tend to still buy paper books, so I can force myself away. Welcome!

Hi everyone
I'm an IT Support Consultant & Head of InfoSec here at Assimil8 in the UK. We've been with JumpCloud properly since June 2020 and it has completely transformed the way we can do things in the IT team within the company. During the pandemic and working from home permenantly, it has made things so much easier to onboard new starters, get their machines configured and much much more.
I love how easy it is to use, how it all flows and mainly how JumpCloud constantly listen to its users and continue to improve the product. When I've had issues, they've been resolved pretty quickly by the JumpCloud support team. I'm looking forward to more new features coming in and also continue to grow with JumpCloud

Hi Everyone,
I really enjoyed reading the replies to this, JumpCloud users around the world.
Well, my turn, I'm Chris, I'm the Principal Strategist - MSP, here at JumpCloud and live and breath MSPs.
I am based near Nottingham in the UK.
I used to run on of the first MSPs over here in the UK before jumping to the vendor side a few years ago.
I'd love to hear from any MSPs reading this, we are doing so much cool stuff specifically for you.
Cheers

Good day everyone!
My name is Brandon Witzig. I work as a systems administrator for Zensurance, we are a company looking to help streamline the process for small businesses in Canada to get insurance!
This would be the first time I have worked in a business with a majority Mac OS userbase so it has been an interesting adventure, and I can say Jumpcloud really helps with user account management (we had one mac in our previous job with LDAP authentication and it was not a great experience)
Fun fact about me: at one time I was a record holder for North America for final fantasy Tower defence on the wii! I loved that game years ago.
10-11-2022 11:41 AM
Hi Brandon! That's a really cool fun fact. Do you still have your mii saved?

Hi, I'm David. I'm the Director of IT Services for CMIT Solutions of NW Georgia, an MSP provider in the North Atlanta suburbs. We're fairly new to JumpCloud and definately not utilizing it fo all its worth yet, so I'm here to learn. Outside of that, on a more personal note, my primary skills are to widdle & waddle and poke holes in tissue every third Sunday.
